We have three exciting educational
opportunities available as part of our community service program:
Field Trips
/ Visit to your Pre-School
Visits to Mommy and Me Groups
Field
Trips
We invite preschool children, their teachers, teacher aides, and parents
to visit our office for a fun, informative tour. We usually begin each
tour with an interactive discussion of “Why do we have teeth?” followed by
an age appropriate introduction to dental care. We utilize visual aids
such as puppets, felt boards and models to involve and engage the
children.
The
children enjoy spending time in our office. They see the X-ray room and
the dental workrooms. We find that this introduction can lessen
apprehension for their first visit and first dental radiographs (X-rays).
We encourage the children to sit in a dental chair. We “show and tell” how
our polisher, the “tooth tickler” and vacuum work, and how the instruments
like the mirror and
“tooth counter” are used during an examination.
During the field trip you will meet one of our doctors and have the
opportunity to ask questions. We cordially invite your school to tour our
office. Please call our office to schedule a date.

interactive programs for children. We include information on dental care,
healthy snacks and drinks, and dental safety. Topics Include:

When Will I Lose a
Tooth?
What’s a Tooth Cave?

Visits
to Mommy
and Me
Groups
Our talk focuses on the development of the teeth, the care of babies’ and
toddlers’ teeth, nutritional
guidelines, and a safe environment for your child. Mommies (and Daddies too!)
will enjoy learning pertinent information about when to start dental care,
feeding habits, early childhood cavities, and what to do if a tooth is
injured. Parents love this opportunity to learn new information and ask
questions about their child’s dental health. Please call our office to
schedule our visit.
Bring your baby in for an early check-up. For more information visit the
Baby and Me Appointment.
